1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CVMatchUp (the "Service"), operated by CVMatchUp ("we", "us", or "our") and accessible at match-my-cv-60.lovable.app and any associated subdomains or applications.
By accessing or using the Service — whether as a guest or a registered user — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Effective date" at the top of this document indicates when these Terms were last updated.
2. Description of the Service
CVMatchUp is an AI-powered tool that allows users to compare a CV against a job description and receive an alignment score, keyword analysis, gap identification, and related suggestions (together, "Outputs").
The Service is available in two tiers:
- Free: Unlimited CV-to-job scoring, skill and keyword breakdown, and saved history for registered users. Guest users may access a score preview without creating an account; no data is stored in guest mode.
- Pro (Monthly / Annual): Includes all Free features plus enhanced AI suggestions, tailored CV bullets, missing keyword analysis, and AI-generated cover letter drafts. Pro access is granted upon successful subscription payment.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use CVMatchUp. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
4. Accounts & Registration
To access certain features (including saved history and the full score breakdown), you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration, and to keep that information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access at mark.driver@spectrumglo.co.uk.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Pro subscriptions are available on a monthly basis (£4.99/month) or annual basis (£29.99/year). Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
Renewals: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You authorise us (or our payment processor) to charge the payment method on file for each renewal.
Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Pro access until that date and will not be charged again.
Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us within 14 days of the charge.
Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price changes before they take effect on your subscription.
Payments are processed by a third-party provider. We do not store your full payment card details.
6. Your Content & Data
You retain full ownership of any CV text, job descriptions, or other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it solely to provide you with the Service.
We will not sell, share, or use Your Content for any purpose other than delivering Outputs to you and improving service reliability, as set out in our Privacy Notice.
Guest mode: Content submitted without an account is processed in real time and not stored after your session ends.
You represent that Your Content does not include any material that infringes third-party rights or that you are not permitted to share.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of personal career development and CV analysis. You must not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service by automated means.
- Use the Service to process CVs or data belonging to others without their consent.
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Circumvent any usage limits or security measures.
- Resell, sublicence, or commercialise any Output without our written consent.
Breach of these obligations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
8. AI Outputs & No Employment Guarantee
The Outputs produced by CVMatchUp are generated by AI and are provided for informational and guidance purposes only. They do not constitute professional careers advice, legal advice, or any guarantee of employment outcomes.
Scores, keyword suggestions, and cover letter drafts are indicative. Hiring decisions depend on many factors beyond CV-to-job alignment, including employer preference, interview performance, and market conditions. We make no representation that using the Service will result in job offers or interviews.
You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on Outputs from the Service.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Service itself — including its design, scoring algorithms, software, and branding — belongs to CVMatchUp or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of that IP to you.
The CVMatchUp name and logo are our trade marks and may not be used without our prior written consent.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CVMatchUp and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunity arising from use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated Outputs.
- Decisions made by third-party employers in response to materials created with the Service's assistance.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law (for example, for fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury caused by our negligence), it is not excluded. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to us in that period or (b) £10.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any Outputs.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. CVMatchUp is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number CSN2702885.
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at mark.driver@spectrumglo.co.uk. We will do our best to resolve issues informally before either party pursues formal proceedings.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access with immediate effect if you breach these Terms, or on reasonable notice for any other reason.
On termination, your right to access the Service ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
